Our Ceremony
Joe and I have started talking recently about ceremony ideas. I feel like so much time is put into planning the reception that oftentimes the ceremony - the reason we are all coming together in the first place! - is overlooked. As a result, most ceremonies I go to are predictable and, although definitely not boring, repetitive. Although we are getting married in a church, and thus do not have complete control over the content of our ceremony, I want ours to be unique and memorable. At the very least, we are writing our own vows.
Readings
- Song of Solomon 8: 6-7 "Place me like a seal over your heart, like a seal on your arm; for love is as strong as death, its jealousy unyielding as the grave. It burns like blazing fire, like a mighty flame. Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away. If one were to give all the wealth of his house for love, it would be utterly scorned."
- We will have this SOMEWHERE in our ceremony. Probably just as an excerpt on the program, but that is OK with me. Falling in love is like owning a dog
